Richard C. Flaherty, MD, FACS

Dr. Flaherty is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is also certified as having added qualifications in surgery of the hand. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Flaherty is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and serves as a clinical assistant professor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Flaherty graduated from Boston College and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center and his residency in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at the University of Rochester in New York. Dr. Flaherty completed a head and neck fellowship at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. He joined Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates in 1981. aspslogo_both

John A. Attwood, MD, FACS

Dr. Attwood is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is also certified as having added qualifications in surgery of the hand. Dr. Attwood is director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Maine Medical Center. He also is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and serves as a clinical associate professor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Attwood graduated from St. Michael’s College and Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center and his residency in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with training in microvascular surgery. David G. Fitz, MD, FACS

He has clinical privileges at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire, where he also sees patients and performs surgery. Dr. Fitz graduated from Harvard College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center and his residency in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, with training in microvascular surgery. Therese K. White, MD, FACS

Dr. White is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition to her surgical practice, Dr. White serves as a clinical assistant professor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic. She has also served as a member of the surgical staff at the Lahey Clinic. Dr. White graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Thomas E. Vaughan, MD, FACS

Dr. Vaughan is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and also serves as a clinical instructor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Vaughan graduated from Haverford College and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. Dr. Vaughan completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore with training in hand and microvascular surgery, and a fellowship in aesthetic surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He joined Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates in 1999.

R. Brannon Claytor, MD, FACS

Dr. Claytor is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and also serves as a clinical instructor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Claytor graduated from Colby College, completed post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Claytor completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which included additional training in aesthetic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital in New York City. His final year of fellowship was in hand and microsurgery, and peripheral nerve surgery, at Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis. Jean J. Labelle, MD, FRCS(C), FACS

Dr. Labelle retired in 2000, after contributing nearly 30 years of excellence to the practice of plastic surgery and to the Plastic & Hand surgical facility he founded in 1976. A board-certified plastic, reconstructive and hand surgeon, Dr. Labelle has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada) since 1969 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1972. He has helped train a generation of plastic surgeons, serving as a clinical instructor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine and as teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic. A native of Canada, Dr. Labelle graduated from Rouyn College and received his medical degree from Ottawa Medical School. Following residencies in general and hand surgery at Grace Hospital in Detroit and in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Dr. Labelle began practicing in Maine in 1971. aspslogo Jean Labelle

Robert B. Waterhouse MD, FRCS(C), FACS

Retired

Dr. Waterhouse retired from practice in 2006, following 28 years of distinction in the practice of plastic surgery – caring for patients, teaching medical students and serving in leadership roles at Maine Medical Center. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada), and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Waterhouse has served on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He is a member of the board of trustees of Maine Medical Center and a past president of the medical staff. Dr. Waterhouse graduated from Middlebury College and the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center and his residency in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at McGill University in Montreal.
