Cosmetic Surgery
Aesthetic surgery, commonly known as cosmetic surgery, involves procedures that reshape facial and bodily features. Cosmetic surgery is designed to improve a person's appearance and self-confidence. A physician consultation is the first step in determining whether cosmetic surgery is appropriate.

The only physician you should consider is one who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Considering a new look is exciting. However, it’s important to have a realistic idea of what cosmetic surgery can do. While it can enhance both your image and your outlook, cosmetic surgery won’t make you look like someone else or change your personal life. Before you decide on surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon.
Nose Surgery
Through nose surgery, a surgeon reshapes your nose to bring it into better balance with your other features. Nose surgery can reduce or enlarge your nose, alter the tip or the bridge, narrow your nostrils or change the angle between your nose and upper lip. This procedure alone cannot give you a perfect profile, but even a slight adjustment can greatly improve your appearance. While usually considered cosmetic surgery, nose surgery can also correct birth defects or injuries and help relieve some breathing problems. Back to top
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation can enhance your self-image as well as your silhouette. As with all cosmetic surgery, you need to make an informed decision about whether it is right for you. Reasons to consider this procedure include enlarging your breasts to be more proportional with your body, reshaping and enlarging breasts that have lost their shape due to breastfeeding, and balancing breasts that differ in size or shape. Talk with your surgeon about implant options (saline or silicone gel) and what kind of transformation you might realistically expect. Back to top
Breast Lift
Time, gravity and breastfeeding can take their toll on a woman’s breasts, causing them to lose their firmness and start to sag. A breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts. While breasts of all sizes can be lifted, women with small breasts usually have longer-lasting results. It’s important to remember that no breast lift will defy gravity forever. If your breasts have lost volume (after pregnancy, for example), implants inserted during the procedure can increase their firmness and size. Your surgeon can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin around the nipple. Back to top
Liposuction
When traditional weight-loss methods don’t work, liposuction is an effective alternative for removing unwanted fat. Liposuction surgically removes fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, upper arms, chin, neck and cheeks. Liposuction has come a long way during the past several years. Today, we have a number of new techniques that offer more precise results and faster recovery times. Talk to your surgeon about the method that will work best for you. Liposuction is most effective on normal-weight people with firm, elastic skin who have isolated pockets of excess fat. Back to top
Eyelid Surgery
Droopy eyelids can add years to your appearance as well as impair your vision. Eyelid surgery refreshes your look by removing the excess fat, muscle and skin from both upper and lower lids – in addition to removing puffiness and under-eye bags. Bright, alert-looking eyes can transform your whole face, minimizing other signs of facial aging. Because the results can be so dramatic, eyelid surgery has become the most requested of all facial cosmetic surgeries. Back to top
Face Lift
Perhaps your mirror is revealing some of the most common signs of aging: deep creases between the nose and mouth, jowls, folds and fat deposits around the neck. A face lift can tighten your skin, refresh your appearance and boost your self-esteem. During a face lift, your surgeon removes excess fat, tightens underlying muscles, and redrapes the skin of your face and neck. Some patients take this opportunity to have related surgeries, including a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or a nose reshaping. You and your surgeon can determine how extensive your procedure should be. A face lift is most effective on people whose skin has some elasticity and who have well-defined bones. Most patients are in their forties, fifties or sixties, but older patients can benefit as well. Back to top
Tummy Tuck
People who are in otherwise good shape can be troubled by stubborn abdominal fat or loose abdominal skin. When diet and exercise don’t work, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can be the solution. This surgery is particularly helpful to women who have had multiple pregnancies; abdominal skin sometimes stretches beyond the point where it can return to normal. Tummy tucks can also improve the loss of skin elasticity which often occurs with aging. Back to top
Endoscopic Brow Lifts
The surgeons of Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates perform endoscopic brow lifts, a procedure with the benefit of minimizing visible scars. Endoscopy is done through two small incisions using a thin, telescopelike instrument. Specially designed tools allow the surgeon to operate through the small incisions. Less pain and faster healing are additional benefits of endoscopic brow lifts. This procedure is particularly appropriate for younger patients, and can be used in combination with traditional face lift techniques. Back to top

Computer-Generated Imaging
Our computer imaging system allows you to see “morphed” changes possible with cosmetic surgery. Your photographed image can be altered while you watch: wrinkles, lines and baggy areas smoothed away; skin around the neck and jawline tightened; chin and nose contours changed. Back to top
